The number one rule in my book is to have a lot of light and a lot of white. Cheerful kitchens will get buyer’s attention away from other negative issues. The color “white” is still the color of choice in most kitchens, or something bright and light in a pastel shade. Also, plenty of light from lighting fixtures turns dull to desirable. An easy lighting upgrade is to add dimmers to all lighting so that you can adjust the light to the job and the mood.

Storage and plenty of it will make your home more appealing for sure. Pantries are very attractive. If you can steal some space away from your laundry room to make a pantry, do it. Buyers love closets and storage spaces in a new home. Utilize every corner that you can think of in your house for storage or add shelving to de-clutter.
